In 2020, we have yet to see a film that is predicted to break the revenue record like in 2019. If you drag it back to 2019, to be precise, April 22 2019, which is the premiere date for the release of the latest film and the conclusion of Marvel's superhero film, Avengers: Endgame.
This film is the conclusion of the four Avengers film series, namely The Avengers, The Avengers: Age of Ultron, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame. It took around 7 years for Marvel to complete the story of this film and closed it in April 2019. This film, which has a superhero theme with various typical Marvel characters, is currently in great demand.
The audience is presented with an unusual story with a touch of CGI animation involving many animators. This is of course to satisfy the eyes of the audience and provide an extraordinary superhero film watching experience. Not surprisingly, the production funds spent on this film were extraordinary.
In the first series alone, this film spent around 220 million USD, followed by the second film amounting to 365 million USD, then the third film amounting to 316 million USD, and the final film 356 million USD. Apart from the expensive costs of using CGI or Computer Generated Imagery technology, this film also stars the highest paid actors and actresses. Just mention names like Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, and Mark Ruffalo.
Not surprisingly, this film spent hundreds of millions of USD in production funds to produce a quality film to watch. This is also in line with the income received thanks to the Avengers film series. The biggest revenue came from the last film, namely Avengers: Endgame, amounting to 2.8 billion USD.
If divided by international market, Avengers Endgame's revenue includes the North American market which made a profit of 853 million USD, the UK market of 114 million USD, the Chinese market of 614 million USD, the South Korean market of 105 million USD, and the Indonesian market which reached 34.6 million USD.
With the income of Avengers: Endgame, the film directed by the Russo brothers managed to break the previous record for the film with the highest income, namely Avatar. Apart from revenue, Avengers: Endgame also managed to break Box Office records with a number of achievements when this film was broadcast. The following is the explanation.
